Button Matching Activity

This Button Matching Activity is perfect for people living with mid to advanced stage dementia who need something meaningful to engage their attention. 

Perfect activity for developing fine motor-skills, manual dexterity, cognitive stimulation, coordination, learning about colours and problem solving.

How to use for a person with dementia:  Place buttons and containers on table in front of participant, ask if they would like to help you organise the buttons. Show the participant how to do so, invite them to have a go and if they seem content to continue, gently encourage them to continue.

The objective of this or any activity is for the person to be content and comfortable engaging in the activity in which ever way they are comfortable to do so. Do NOT correct the person if they don’t follow as instructed. Simply encourage their participation.
