Hose Connection Set Activity

This is ideal for people living with dementia, particularly men, who have an interest in gardening.

How to use with a person living with dementia:  Place the pieces of the connection set in front of the person, ask the participant if they could help you put the pieces together, show the person how to do it, invite them to have a go and if they seem content to continue, gently encourage them to continue.

The objective of this or any activity is for the person to be content and comfortable engaging in the activity in which ever way they are comfortable to do so. Do NOT correct the person if they don’t follow as instructed. Simply encourage their participation.
